You’re question … You’re question isn’t odd at all. It’s a very good one. I have known women taxidermists. They were very good, had a good eye for detail, were very particular. In this day and age, a woman should go for whatever she wants to do. I suggest reading books on taxidermy, watching videos, asking questions, etc. Dig into it further. You don’t have to hunt to appreciate the preservation of animals. Good luck and keep in touch. – Rick

Hello, I know my … Hello, I know my question may be odd, but I’m really interested in becoming a taxidermist.
I don’t hunt and the closest I’ve come to it was tanning a deer hide that a neighbor gave me because he was just going to throw it away. I got it caped and had a lot of fun just messing around, even kept the face.
I was wondering if it is possible to become an apprentice or anything? Your advice.
Mom says Taxidermy isn’t a ‘woman’s field’ but I am REALLY interested.
Thank you.
