Thanks, that’s most …
Thanks, that’s most kind. I have in fact removed several films on taxidermy recently, and almost did this one today as I have had some very arrogant and rude letters recently. Not many admitedly and far more saying thanks, but always by those with nothing on their own pages?! I simply cannot be bothered to share such, free, if I get that. I do not pretend to be a pro at such but am in my art. I simply share traditional ways here I have been taught that work for me .

This will partly …
This will partly depend upon how dry the atmosphere is but a few weeks at least, I have not found I need to use any glue as in all of my animals from hedgehogs, squirrels, stoats etc. over the past – once the skins are properly dry all has remined in place – for me anyway. :-) Remember – I am only a hobbyist sharing inexpensive traditional ways that wrok well enough for me.

As you may have …
As you may have seen on the film I do mention this re larger animals such as a fox where placing the skin over the legs is certainly sensible by entering the back firstly. BUT, personally, for me I find no problem on smaller animals entering the underside and for me it makes for a neater stitching as that part is usually hidden.

Indeed, and that’s …
Indeed, and that’s what much of this film was about using easily found and cheap materials to enable you to enjoy this hobby :-) I have had it written here that a better job could have been done using a pre formed plastic body brought from a suppliers. Maybe so – equally far more fun using ones own ability and copying the actual body.

Thank you very much …
Thank you very much for this video. Really well done.

How long do you need to let the “mask” be pinned and dry for before you can remove the pins around the eyes? Also do you sew the mouth closed?

Thanks – regarding …
Thanks – regarding entomology, even showing taxidermy is dangerous these days and can be emotive. I love watching, helping, photographing, painting nature, my gardens show that. I also love studying it. I have taken insects, occasionally, where there is a surplus, to enjoy here yes, or been given collections. I will not do a film about such as it may invite the wrong people to collect indiscriminately or over reactive ignorant critiscm of who I am. I have already had some about the taxidermy.

Excellent work my …
Excellent work my friend, I have had fried squirrel but it’s too much work for the amount of meat you get. I saw in the background you had some butterflies saved. I looked on you page but could not find a video of how to do them or insects. Have you made one? Again an excellent job and very nice of you to save him.
