Im going on a 5day fishing trip in about a month and was wondering whats the best quality/cheapest taxidermist to go to? Also what do you think the prices would estimate at?
ps- i plan to come back with bluefin tuna/yellow tail
I have never had any of my big fish mounted and I live in O C. I recommend that you talk to one of the editors there at Western Outdoor News or look for a couple ads in their paper or in their Western Outdoors Magazine is the ad section in the back.

I have a loved one who is very sick. Does this symbolize death?
No it symbolises stuffing a dead animal – your dreams will not kill your loved one. Spend your time working to make them feel better and then you will know that they will feel loved no matter what the outcome.
Well recentley i caught an 11lb bass and when we went to the taxodermist i was amazed by how all that was done, does anyone know where and how i should start? I dont care on what i start on i can fish or kill with my 9 mil.
I would start on a larger bird to get some of the techniques down, I personally started with a squirrel and they arent too dificult either.

What is the most efficient method? I am not sure of the measurements, but it is approximately 25lbs.
I am just beginning to collect Taxidermy pieces, and I have no clue as to how these shipments work…I would assume I’d need to place insurance on it and ship it with packaging foam peanuts and FRAGILE labels, etc.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Don’t ship Fedex. They do not offer insurance on ground packages. They ask you the value of the package and charge you extra if the value is over $100, but they do not offer insurance. Google Fedex insurance and you’ll see a lot of complaints from people who found out the hard way that they don’t insure packages.
If the overall box size is less than 108" (girth+height), you can ship it UPS and insure it.
DHL is cheaper than UPS, but tend to cause more damage (from my experience).
The only other option is Greyhound, which is super cheap, but they will have to pick up at the Greyhound station.
For a deer, I would wrap the antlers with bubble wrap and then wrap the entire thing with foam (king size foam mattress pads are great and cheap packing material) and then fill any voids in the box with the packing peanuts. I wouldn’t use just packing peanuts.
I am 14 years old and I am really into hunting and fishing. I was wondering if it is difficult to get into Taxidermy. And do you have any tips for me to get into it. thanks
You can get taxidermy books at a book store or go online and get them, start out with something small like a squirrel. You can also get you a set of taxidermy skinning knives.
If you know a taxidermist he may let you help him in his shop.It takes a lot of patience and time but if you enjoy it. It will pay off

I am looking for stuffed carrion birds for an art project. I am specifically interested in crows but I have recently learned of some act protecting these birds in North America. Other specieces of birds of prey or scavenger birds will do. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
